The Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) is the world’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of uncrewed systems and robotics and are putting the American truckers and companies out of work. This won’t only endanger the American people on the roads but will also cause major supply chain disruptions when their systems are interrupted. Since 2023 approximately 123,000 companies have gone under and that will double or triple within the next two years. We are nearly at the point of no return.
The Transportation Infrastructure Committee in the House of Representatives has not revealed this information to the United States Citizens.
NOOA (The National Owner Operators Association) has been addressing Congress for the past two years regarding the use of uncrewed delivery systems. The pressing concerns are unenforced regulations, hiring of a improperly trained, unqualified remote operators, ie: non-requirements of a CDL for a remote operator.
The AUVSI membership is vast and includes (but not limited to) companies such as Amazon, Aerospace, Boeing, Peterbilt and Kenworth to name a few.

Remember, in order to operate a commercial vehicle in the United States the FMCSA requires a CDL CLASS A license. Aurora’s job postings on their website does not list a CDL as a requirement for hire. These trucks are remote operated and still pose the same SAFETY issues as a CDL driver. Sources:
